Title: Need to know when children are not in school?
My ex-wife and I share 50/50 physical and legal custody of our two school age children. When the children are with me and home ill I always let her know during the day. However when she has physical custody of the children and they are home sick, I never find out until later when my child says that they missed some school.

We switch physical custody every Friday and sometimes I don’t know until that evening that they sick while I have already made plans for an active weekend for them.
I believe that since I have 50% legal custody of my children I not only have the right to know when they are home ill, but an obligation to know that my children are home from school sick.

What do you think? Thank you

It would be great if she would let you know in a timely way when your children are sick or missing school, but you cannot force her to do so. I assume that this does not happen that often (I hope your children are not missing more than a few days a year of school due to illness). So, while this may be frustrating to you, it hardly seems like something worth getting terribly worked up about.
