Title: Relo Abroad??
Reading all your feedback about relocating after divorce. This is a major consideration in filing for me.... My H and I have considered moving abroad (Europe) to my home country for years - I have stayed in the States for him. I have no intentions of staying, but if I file for divorce, will I be forced to stay because he is here? We have a 3 year old child and I hate what divorce and moving will do to him, but on the other hand my H has pulled enough crap to want to move on..... Any experience with this, anyone??

You won't be forced to stay in the US, but you may not be permitted to take your child with you. Children generally need two parents in their lives, so taking your child away from his father is usually a bad idea. The fact that you and your husband discussed a move abroad while you were married is kind of moot now,c onsidering that you are getting divorced. You now need to focus on what is best for your child (meaning regular and meaningful time with both parents), not what is best for you personally.
