Hi, I am an adult child of divorce. Parents divorced at age 8. I have 3 older sisters. Does anyone know where I can get statistics on the divorce rate for children of divorce.

Its very sad to know that you are divorce children.My suggestion to u all is you better go and contact well lawyer and after ate decision in court you will get correct statistics

Some studies have shown that children of divorce share negative attributes that could hurt an intimate relationship, they trusted their partners less than those from intact homes and those with divorced parents had higher divorce rates. They did not have good marriage role models who demonstrated committment. Exact statistics should not be the important criteria. Two people dealing with manageable conflicts can work. I hope you and your sisters have been an exception to those studies. Probably not. Sometimes it may be more difficult for the youngest???? I am most fortunate. My parents stayed together and so did my marriage. A book by Elizabeth Marquardt, "My Two Worlds" tells how she dealt with the breakup of her family.
