Title: questions about property transer post judgement
So basically, i was awarded the house in our divorce judgment and although my ex is still around (because of kids), he was unresponsive and refused to read his mail or deal with the divorce at all.
SOOOO basically we are officially divorced and the house is officially awarded to me and he does not or chooses not to know.
My question is, what about the deed? do i need a new one or does the recorded judgment act as the new deed. i think he has to sign for a new deed and this is more drama than i care to deal with if i don't have to. Even tough it was recorded over a year ago, the city continues to send mail to both of us regarding the house. help.
