Actor Corey Feldman’s wife of seven years has decided she’s not willing to “stand by” him anymore. Court records have revealed that Susie Feldman (née Susannah Sprague) submitted a divorce filing last week, ending the couple’s Surreal Life together.
Susie Feldman, 27, cited irreconcilable differences in her divorce papers. She is seeking custody of their five-year-old son, Zen, as well as child support and spousal support. She would allow Corey Feldman visitation rights.
This was the second marriage for the 38-year-old former child actor, who previously was married to Beverly Hills, 90210 star Vanessa Marcil from 1989 to 1993. He met Sprague in a nightclub and later wed her on the final episode of the first season of reality-TV series The Surreal Life, in a $100,000 ceremony presided over in part by MC Hammer.
As recently as 2007, Feldman said that his marriage had helped him get over depression and drug abuse. “Six years together and we’re still in love,” he said at the time, as quoted by BANG Showbiz. “Whereas I used to get depressed or neurotic or dwell on things, I see my son’s bright eyes and smile in the morning, and suddenly, I don’t feel like I’m depressed anymore. There’s nothing to be depressed about when you’ve got that.”
Corey Feldman began his acting career at the age of three. He appeared in dozens of commercials and TV shows before becoming a star in the mid-1980s with such movies as Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, The Goonies, Stand by Me, and The Lost Boys. More recently, Feldman starred with fellow former 1980s teen idol Corey Haim in the A&E reality show The Two Coreys; he also does voicework on the animated series Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!.
