Can I fire my attorney if things aren’t going well?
Absolutely. Most good attorneys provide contracts for their clients to sign that sets out what is expected of the attorney, what is expected of the client, what is expected in terms of payment and what the circumstances are under which a client can fire us or we can fire a client. A client absolutely can fire an attorney. And by the same token, an attorney can fire a client. It is a two-way street. The lawyer has to be able to trust and depend on the client and the client has to be able to trust and depend on the lawyer.
