Charlie Sheen is, according to his PR machine, many interesting things. He’s winning. He’s a violent torpedo of truth (as opposed to a friendly torpedo?). And according to some rumors, he’s also on the verge of resuming his stint as one of TV’s 2-and-a-Half-Men and reclaiming his jackpot paycheck of over $2 million an episode (yes, you read that right).
And that’s not all Charlie Sheen is.
According to NYDDailyNews.com, he’s now joined the ranks of millions of people who have gone from saying “I do” to “Thanks for the memories” now that his divorce to Brooke Mueller has been finalized.
The divorce comes six months after it was filed. It also comes after many, many incidents that have likely caused even the most jaded tabloid editor to wince or, at least, roll their eyes in “oh, not this again” disbelief. Such stellar moments from Chuck and Brooke’s Wild Adventures over the last half a year include various stints in rehab, several brushes with the law (including a now infamous spat on Christmas in 2009), and an bitter child custody battle over the couple’s two-year-old twin boys, Bob and Max.
Fortunately, on the custody battlefront, cooler and wiser heads prevailed as the couple agreed to joint custody, with Mueller receiving physical custody. Additionally, the ex-couple have agreed to random drug tests as part of their divorce resolution, which will hopefully lead to more (non-chemical-inspired) good feelings for everyone involved.
And of course, no celebrity break up would be complete without a look at the super sized piles of money that will change hands. Per the divorce settlement, Mueller will receive a cool $55,000 per month in child support, plus a one-time sum of just over $750,000. She also received $1 million for letting Sheen keep their LA home.
Also of interesting (and possibly tragic) note is that Sheen’s divorce settlement also states: “under no circumstances shall the child support paid by Charlie for Bob and Max be less than the child support paid by Charlie to Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards for daughters Sam and Lola.”
I guess there’s such a thing as step-sibling support rivalry. Good on Charlie for thinking ahead.
