In the latest development of Charlie Sheen’s reportedly bitter custody battle, his ex-wife has filed a petition with Los Angeles County Superior Court to end the movie star’s overnight stays with their two young daughters.
According to court papers obtained by Access Hollywood, actor Denise Richards claims that their children, three-year-old Sam and two-year-old Lola, have been resisting going to Sheen’s home to spend the night. She says that they have “often returned sad and upset” and expresses concern that Sheen engages in “inappropriate behavior” on the Internet without caring how that might affect “the child-rearing of two young daughters.” She also wants the children to undergo therapy.
Richards, 36, filed the court request on September 18.
Sheen, 42, has made complaints of his own. In August, he filed a request with the court that he, rather than Richards, should get to choose the nannies that look after the children at his home. He also publicly stated at one point that Richards had requested sperm from him in order to father a third child with her.
“Clearly, the mother of my children has no interest in responsible co-parenting when it comes to my relationship with our girls. She behaves as though she owns our children,” the Platoon and Major League star said in a recent press statement, according to the Associated Press. “She does not.”
Concerning Richards’ latest accusations, Sheen’s attorney, Lance Spiegel, added in his own statement: “Virtually all of these allegations were previously raised and were denied by Mr. Sheen.”
Sheen and Richards married on June, 15, 2002. Their divorce became official on November 30 last year, and Sheen is currently engaged to real-estate investor Brooke Mueller. Sheen received his second Emmy nomination this year for his role in Two and a Half Men; Richards, meanwhile, recently starred with Pamela Anderson in the comedy Blonde and Blonder.
