Erin Brockovich getting Divorced

According toTMZ.com, Erin Brockovich’s hubby Eric Ellis wants a divorce. The couple married in 1999.

Citing the no-fault divorce clause ofirreconcilable differences, Ellis filed divorce papers in L.A. County Superior Court last week. He’s looking for spousal support, and doesn’t think he should pay his soon-to-be-ex wife anything.

Brockovich is the legal heroine who, in 1993, helped blow the lid off a cover-up that saw a town inCaliforniadeluged by mass chemical contamination from a nearby energy company.

The case was eventually settled for $333 million, and Brockovich’s exploits inspired the film bearing her name,Erin Brockovich. The film was a global box office success, and earned star Julia Roberts an Oscar for Best Actress.
