I am sure your attorney is very competent with respect to the law. However, many attorneys I work with flat-out admit that they are not trained in the area of finance, nor do they wish to be. I suggest you address the issue with your attorney and express your concerns. You may want to write them out, point by point. This way, you could check the items off once they are addressed to your satisfaction.

This is your divorce and your future, so be proactive. If you feel that your concerns have not been resolved after meeting with your attorney, hire a financial professional, then inform your attorney that this individual is part of your team. Remember, you are the client and it is your money.
