You should expect to pay a premium for the flexibility of paying month-to-month. Plus, you’ll need to give your landlord 30-day notice before you move out – or, on the flipside, your landlord can end your lease with 30-days notice. Also keep in mind that your rent can be increased with 30-days notice as well. Ultimately, you have to decide whether this flexibility is worth the premium you’ll pay, plus the amount of control you may be losing.
