Jessica Simpson’s Parents Divorcing

The parents of singer, actress and persona non grata in any Dallas Cowboys fan club meeting Jessica Simpson are heading their separate ways after 35 years of marriage.

According to a representative of the family (what, are they the mob or something?) Tina and Joe Simpson have “amicably split.” 

That same representative also told PEOPLE that there is no truth to the gossip that has started dogging the break-up: “It is an amicable split and there is no third party involved. Any other related allegations are completely false. The family appreciates your respect for their privacy at this time.”

Things haven’t gone swimmingly for the Jessica and Ashley’s (remember her?) folks; in particular, Joe, who is also Jessica’s manager. He pled not guilty to a DUI charge last month. If convicted, he could face jail time.
