While most of the details of their split remain confidential, vocalist/actress Simpson and bassist Wentz formerly divorced on November 22nd after 3-1/2 years.
Both parties previously indicated they wanted primary custody of their son Bronx Mowgli, but along with their multi-million dollar empire, the division remains secret. A 103-pagesettlement document was prepared, but won’t be filed unless the couple were to dispute the terms later on.
With a net worth of approximately $8 million, Simpson, 27, began dancing at the age of 4 and at 11 enjoyed the accolade of being the youngest person ever admitted to the prestigious School of American Ballet. At 14, she hit the road with her sister, pop-star Jessica Simpson. Her first CD, Autobiography went platinum and hit No.1 on the Billboard chart the first week of its release, July 20th, 2004. Controversy ensued in 2006 when she had a nose job while claiming it had been a “personal choice,” not for appearance. After her interview with Marie Claire magazine that year, over 1,000 letters of complaint followed its release claiming it was hypocritical.
Wentz, 32, is best known as the bassist and vocalist of the American rock band Fall Out Boy. With an estimated net worth of $18 million, he owns Decaydance Records, which has had success with bands such as Panic! at the Disco and Gym Class Heroes. He also founded Clandestine Industries, a clothing company, as well as a bar called Angels & Kings, and a film production company, Bartskull Films. He is also active in fundraising projects including UNICEF’s Tap Project, which helps bring clean drinking water to people worldwide.
