If, as some pundits say, the root of all true country music is a bittersweet, melodic homage to human sadness, then superstar LeAnn Rimes was given some motivation for future chart toppers when her husband Deane Sheremet filed for divorce ina Los Angelescourt late last week. The divorce was granted earlier today. Citing “irreconcilable differences,” 29 year-old Sheremet is also asking for spousal support and attorney’s fees from 27 year-old Rimes. The amounts that Sheremet will receive is unknown, but Access Hollywood is reporting that the couple has agreed to a confidentialdivorce settlement. “The [settlement] shall not be filed in this proceeding due to the parties mutual desire to maintain their respective rights to privacy,” the court document states. Separated for three months, Rimes and Sheremet had been married for eight years but ran into matrimonial trouble when Rimesbegan a relationship with marriedactor Eddie Cibrian, who was Rimes’ co-star in the 2009 film “Northern Lights.” Cibrian is also well-known for his work on the hit show “CSI: Miami. Cibrian,” and is in the midst of his own divorce proceedings from model Brandi Glanville. Rimes is known for such hits as “Blue”, “How Do I Live”, “I Need You”, and “Nothin’ Better to Do.” |
