Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman has driven Miss Daisy, waltzed out of Shawshank, and introduced millions of people some some pretty fascinating marching penguins, but his latest “experience” probably ranks among the most challenging of all time: divorce. Freeman, 73, divorced his wife Myrna Colley-Lee last month in a Mississippi court. To everyone’s relief, the divorce was amicable and completed without a trial. “Everybody is glad it’s over,” stated Freeman’s divorce attorney William R. Wright. It’s unclear whether an incident in November 2009 led to the marriage break-up. That’s when Freeman settled a lawsuit with Damaris Meyer, who became known as “the other woman.” Meyer insisted that she was not the cause of Freeman’s marriage woes, despite accusations to the contrary. Freeman and Colley-Lee have no children together; Freeman has four children from a prior relationship, and his first marriage. |
