What can I do if I don’t feel like my lawyer is answering my questions?
I would make an appointment face-to-face with the lawyer regarding the status of your case. If you cannot meet the lawyer face-to-face, then a phone conference would be second-best. You would need to tell the lawyer your feelings and explain how you feel in regards to his or her failure to answer questions. Sometimes, lawyers are involved in several cases at once and cannot address your specific question at a specific time.
In addition, you may want to e-mail, fax, or write down specific questions that you have and provide them to the lawyer in advance, and then ask for a conference by phone to answer those questions.
Lastly, you may ask the lawyer to answer the questions in a letter format, so that you can better understand those answers. Sometimes, explaining it in a different way and seeing it in writing will assist the client in understanding the answer to their questions.
