If a Sundance Film Festival audience can be trusted, the world is about to laugh a lot about a subject that typically isn’t associated with fun: divorce.
New Divorce Comedy Movie: A.C.O.D.
That’s because the film “A.C.O.D.” – which is an acronym for “Adult Children of Divorce” inspired such a raucous reaction at Sundance in January, that it has been picked up for international distribution.
“A.C.O.D. is one of the funniest Sundance films we’ve seen and the audience at its premiere laughed the whole way through,” commented a spokesperson from movie’s distributor, The Film Arcade.
The divorce comedy movie focuses on Carter, who is forced to visit his unhappily divorced parents after his younger brother gets engaged. That’s when he learns that he was unknowingly part of a study years ago that focused on children of divorce, and is now being asked to participate in a follow-up.
“[Director Stu Zicherman] and his incredible cast have shown us that divorce hurts until you laugh,” further added a spokesperson from The Movie Arcade. “We look forward to bringing this entertaining film to audiences and adding ‘A.C.O.D.’ to the pop-culture lexicon.”
