Paul McCartney, 68, knows (at least in song) that money can’t buy love. But it can sure finance one heck of a divorce — to the tune of a $38.9 million settlement to his ex Heather Mills.
And now, not content to be among those serenaded with his lyric “all the lonely people, where do they all belong?” the former fab 4 moptop is apparently giving marriage another try. A third try, to be precise.
The object of McCartney’s affection is American girlfriend Nancy Shevell, 51. The couple started dating in 2007, a year after McCartney ended his acrimonious divorce to Mills (and forced tabloid newspapers to find someone else’s pain and suffering else to write about).
While rumors persist of the impending nuptial, the couple is keeping a low profile and have yet to confirm the news. However, a source told People.com: “Nancy and Paul are getting married…They have the right chemistry. They’re both cool, chilled out and optimistic.”
Let’s hope for everyone’s sake, that the third time is a charm for the ex-Beatle and his bride-to-be.
