Oscar-winner Penelope Cruz has tied the knot with boyfriend Javier Bardem in the Bahamas. The ceremony took place in secret at a mutual friend’s house in front of a handful of friends and family.

The Spanish couple met in 2007 (which is consideredages agoin celebrity-time terms), and since then have constantly shied away from frenzied media attention and reports that they were an item. However, Bardem may have signaled a change in policy by dedicating his Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival to his betrothed.

Cruz, who has been involved in high-profile relationships with actors Matthew McConaughey and Tom Cruise, has recently noted in interviews that she’s ready to start having children and raise a family.
