Almost nobody knew she was married for about a year and a half. But now, everybody’s finding out about Emmy Rossum’s divorce.
Rossum’s husband, music executive Justin Siegel, filed for divorce with Los Angeles Superior Court last Friday. Siegel is citing irreconcilable differences and wants to get spousal support and divorce costs from the actor, who’s known for her Golden Globe-nominated lead turn in the 2004 musical The Phantom of the Opera and supporting roles in Poseidon and The Day after Tomorrow.
According to People, which broke the story on Monday, Rossum has been seeing singer Adam Duritz of Counting Crows. An anonymous source told the magazine that Rossum and Duritz had been spotted during Labor Day weekend in a New York restaurant, “sitting side by side, kissing throughout dinner”.
Duritz, who at 45 is almost twice Rossum’s age, has previously been linked to Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, and Mary Louise Parker.
Rossum and Siegel secretly received a marriage license in 2007 and wed the following February. Their marriage became public knowledge when the couple separated in August.
Emmy Rossum, 23, will next appear in Dare, alongside Zach Gilford.
