It’s the best of times and the worst of times for movie star Sandra Bullock. Less than two weeks ago, she made a unique brand of Hollywood history by becoming the first actor to win both an Academy Award (for The Blind Side) and a Golden Raspberry Award (as the year’s Worst Actress in All About Steve) on the same weekend.
And amidst all the laurels for her Blind Side performance, reports have surfaced that her marriage isn’t on such a winning streak. Yesterday, Internet chatter began suggesting that Bullock’s husband, Monster Garage host Jesse James, had cheated on her while she worked on the film.
Bullock, 45, immediately canceled her plans to appear at next week’s Blind Side London premiere, due to “unforeseen personal reasons”, according to the Associated Press. And today, James appeared to confirm the affair rumors via a public apology he sent to Bullock through People.
“It’s because of my poor judgment that I deserve everything bad that is coming my way. This has caused my wife and kids pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension, and I am extremely saddened to have brought this on them,” James’ statement read. “The vast majority of the allegations reported are untrue and unfounded… I will not dignify these private matters with any further public comment.”
Bullock and James married in July 2005. They have no children together, but won full legal custody of James’ five-year-old daughter from his previous marriage in December. James, 40, also has a son and daughter with his first wife.
Sandra Bullock’s busy 2009 also included a starring role in the hit romantic comedy The Proposal.
