Smallville star Tom Welling, 36, has been served with divorce papers by his estranged wife to end their 11-year marriage.
Model Jamie White Welling submitted documents to the Los Angeles Superior Court on Wednesday October 16, 2013, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Apparently the couple filed for legal separation in December 2012, and have been living separate and apart since.
The couple met in a coffee shop in Miami in 1998, and wed four years later in 2002 at Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. They lived in Vancouver where Smallville was filmed until 2011 and they returned to Los Angeles. The couple doesn’t have any children, and she is asking for spousal support in their divorce agreement.
The actor, who has kept a low-profile since Smallville ended, served as co-producer for the cancelled TV show Hellcats in 2011, and is set to appear with Jennifer Garner and Kevin Costner in the upcoming 2014 sports drama-comedy movie, Draft Day. The newly single Welling also stars as a Secret Service Agent Roy Kellerman in the Tom Hanks production, Parkland, a drama about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy that opened nationwide on October 4.
